Community
Community
We have been working with local communities and stakeholders to ensure the project delivers long-lasting benefits. We have done this by seeking feedback and asking the community to contribute their ideas throughout the development process.
Key issues raised by the community and stakeholders during the consultation process include:
- Community engagement and socio-economic benefits
- The battery production process
- Construction and operational noise
- The decommissioning process
- Connection to the energy grid
- Traffic and transport, including the proposed site access route
- Decommissioning and BESS end of life
- Concerns about battery fire and bushfire risk
- Perception that the cost of the Project outweighs the benefits
- Potential loss of agricultural land
- Impact to property value.
